Peter was the son of Jean Borda and Marikita Etchepare. He married Marie Ernaut at the Thomas Aquinas Cathedral in Reno, Nevada on January 5, 1912.
Together they moved to Gardnerville where Peter raised sheep. Four children were born to the Bordas: Lucile Marie, William Pierre, Marie Ann, and Anita Louise.
Peter was a member of Reno Lodge BPOE and Carson City Aerie FOE. He was killed in a car accident in Reno, Nevada and was buried in St. Thomas Cemetery, later moved to Our Mother of Sorrows when St. Thomas was shut down.
